Francesca Santoro and the microchips of the future

Francesca Santoro, a biomedical engineer at the Naples branch of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT and the first Italian to be awarded the MIT Innovators Under35 Europe prize by the MIT Technology Review, tells us about her research projects: from the 3D photovoltaic patch to accelerate the regeneration of damaged areas of the skin, to the first biohybrid artificial synapse model capable of making biological neurons and neuromorphic chips talk to each other.

Think IT beyond

IDEAS presents the image of a territory and a community committed to reflecting on the major themes of the contemporary debate: environmental sustainability, progress, urban regeneration, social integration.
